More GedmatchID problems

Hi,

I used Gedmatch Genesis but I cannot seem to get the number into the Gedmatch id on wikitree. I did not cut and paste but typed it in.

It is XH1052507

is it because of the two letters?

Thanks,

C

I think the field only takes the regular GEDMatch ID, not the Genesis, but hey, we're supposedly a distant match on Genesis. My Genesis ID is AL1894990, using defaults:

Largest segment = 7.8 cM

Total Half-Match segments (HIR) = 15.2 cM (0.4 Pct)
Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 6.9

145085 SNPs used for this comparison.

55.1 Pct SNPs are full identical

My GEDMatchID is A447358. Genesis isn't GEDMatch, in more ways than one more letter and one more digit.

The genetic relationship finder here says we are 9th cousins FWIW.

WikiTree can't accommodate Gedmatch Genesis IDs yet. I hope that the DNA Project and Team are looking at adding this capability.
Hello C.,

I recommend you add your Genesis ID in the note field for your 23andMe test.

Sincerely, Peter
