Does anyone know a good resource for BMD records from the Electorate or Kingdom of Saxony, early 19th century?  Not having any luck at Family Search.

Sachsen was predominantly protestant. Unfortunately that means in order to get at church books you may have to go through Archion which is a pay-site. You can search for free but for anything beyond the index entry you'll have to pay.

Thanks Helmut!
They just started to digitize Church books from the state that is now called Saxony. So depending on the city/region you look for you might have to wait one or two more years to access the church books online at archion.de (my parents still live in that region and my father spent the last years visiting churches nearby to have a look at the original books... I´m really looking forward to have it online soon....). I agree with Helmut, that it´s a good place to look for if you need protestant church records.
Thanks Manuela.  From Helmut's suggestion, I looked at Archion, but they don't seem to have anything.  Your answer explains why.  The city I'm interested in is Neukirchen or Markt Neukirchen, now called Markneukirchen.

Yes for that region is it very hard to find anything online. My family is from Saxony and I can't find any sources online about anybody. This is so frustrating.

Yes, very frustrating!  It's not even my family.  They are semi-famous, though, so I've found a couple of things that researchers have published about them, including church records.
