I wanted to share this photo of Richard Schott I just found. He was a person I came across during the SAT and had to come back to due to his story. Pvt Richard Schott served in the Korean war for a short time before he was listed as MIA. I found his obituary today and 3 years after being MIA he was found and listed as KIA and sent back home to Wisconsin to his mother and siblings. RIP Pvt Richard Lawrence Schott.

I wanted to share this family photo of Richard Schott with the community. Date: 1950.

I work with a retired Army officer who was part of the Koren clean up crew. After the war, the military sent soldiers back to recover and identify American soldiers' bodies and ship them home for burial. A largely unknown and sad mission. Perhaps Pvt. Schott was one of his recoveries.
That sounds like an horrible and sad mission to be sent on. It would show how WikiTree can work in mysterious ways and bring people together if your coworker was the one to recover his body. He would have been recovered near Hadong, South Korea.
Hi, Amanda, I did ask my co-worker, but he actually did recovery in North Korea. Also horrible and sad, but much more dangerous. Thank God for the people who perform these missions.
This photo is such a treasure!  Thank you for sharing.

It's his smile that grabs me though I agree with you on his eyes. I don't know what it is about his smile since it's not the prettiest in the world but it just helps bring him to life for me.
