Vandevender / Vandeventer etc.

I was starting to work on my Vandeventer/Vandevender lines and would like to know if there are others working of these lines in the USA. My direct ancestor, Mary Vandevender married my 5ggrandfather David Evans, Sr. b ~1740 but I've not been able to connect her to the fairly extensive online tree which is on maybe elsewhere) My other line is somewhat less direct. A Nimrod Vandevender married a Susannah Evans a ggranddaughter of David Evans, Sr. Nimrod is listed in the book and his mother is an Evans from Licking County Ohio where many of the Evans's moved from Washington County Pennsylvania in the early 1800s.  If anyone is interested in discussing the USA lines of the Vandevent(d)er surname let me known.

I couldn't get it to work, but it may be the same as the Vandeventer book which is on  I probably ought to go look and see if it has any information I'd like which I didn't copy a number of years ago.

Hi Dave,

I was just looking in here as one of the Dutch Roots Project members  as Vandeventer must be one with Dutch Roots named "van Deventer"  I guess.

I can not help you at those born at the USA. You re doing great at finding sources at Family Search. Just hoping you get more help here from others more into the USA.

I see more questions related here on the last name. Please type in deventer or vandeventer in the search box here and you might find some related answers.

Happy Treeing!

Well, sure it's a pretty good size city on the IJssen  with a population of nearly 100,000., I presume the line came over as early as when New York City was New Amsterdan.  I'm mostly interested in the US lines though if someone could find where the Mary Vandevender who is my direct ancester I'd obviously be interested.
