Searching for Elijah Howard, Illinois Howards

Question

I have hit a brickwall with this Howard.

Wife: Nancy Jane Squalles.

Son: Thomas Howard

 

Possible daughter: Barbara Howard

 

Elijah died in 1864. Not sure when Nancy Died.

 

Thomas was raised by a German Couple.

 

I have also hit a dead end with Nancy Squalles.

 

That's what I know.

There is a Elijah Howard died Jan. 17, 1864 buried at Cave Hills National Cemetery, Louiseville, Ky. If he died in the Civil War this is a possibility.
