There is a marriage for a Joseph Taylor and Ann Stewart in Kirkburton in 1835. Is this the correct couple? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NJ26-L5Q

It would also help if you can tell us more about the death record you have found for Joseph in 1836. Where in South Yorkshire is he buried?

Where did you find the birth year of 1776? Is this estimated from an age at death or taken from some other type of record?

Thank you.

The dates may be incorrect for Joseph Taylor. I obtained this info via a tree I created on ancestry.com. At one point it had my line coming to the us via Sunderland England. I know the George F Taylor dob 1880 dies 1944 Massachusetts is correct then his Father is listed as William Taylor Yorkshire England, Then the Joseph Taylor. I may have taken a wrong turn somewhere,
OK. We need to start with the documented facts that you have and work systematically from there.

Do you have documentation for Joseph's wife being Ann Stewart? Did you take a look at that marriage record that I linked to? Do you have a birth year for William? If your theory about Joseph dying in 1836 is correct and the marriage record in 1835 is correct then that leaves a fairly small window of time for them to have had William.
Did William marry in America or England?
