Is it possible to display ids for siblings, spouses or children in profile display

Often we are faced with examining duplicate siblings, spouses and children listed in a profile display to determine the necesity for merging.  After each merge the number of such duplicates expands.  It is a tedious job.

I would be great if it were possible to display (either normally or by option) the ids associated with each name entry.  This would reduce the amount of note taking when cleaning up a profile.

It would be particularly helpful to have ID information available when comparing two profiles (the dual profile display).  I understand that such an ID display would use a lot of  valuable window space when two profiles are being compared.  Therefore it should be an option in this case.  Having extra lines in the display necessary to display this information would more than offset the amount of work/confusion experienced when comparing two profiles.

Lastly, It would be hepful to have the right mouse click display the id for a profile entry.  Having to use a right mouse click, then select properties, to get the id (an operating system function)  is often awkward and time consuming. a single  program-level right click should display this information.

Thank you.

From any profile....Click on the orange Edit tab. Find, on the right, a column, headed by "Father".  At the bottom of that column, find

[duplicates? please merge]

Click on this.  The names will appear on the left, each with a box on its left and birth/death dates on its right. Find two identical names with the same birth date, click on the boxes on the left, then find on the right, the yellow box with green arrows/words. Click on

and make sure they are the same individual before attempting to merge them.

This is an excellent answer.    I will use it to compare duplicate family members.  The method is  somewhat obscure to a newbe and unnecessarly involved, but will get the job done while significantly reducing the manual note taking effort.

It would be great if the "duplicates? please merge" function could be elevated to the base profile (the non edit mode) to allow the comparing of the subordinate ids under the base profile. Alternatively it could be tied to the right mouse key as an option.

Thank you for providing such a great answer.  Wish I could provide you with more votes.

The id's for the profiles are already being listed.  They are above on the right hand side beside "My Wikitree". If you are on the profile you want to merge with, go to the bottom of page where it says to "Initial merge" and then enter the second profiles name and id on the second line.  You can then compare both profiles, request a merge, make a match or reject it.  This would save you a number of steps and it worl be a lot faster as well as easier to do.
