Zebulon Rudd Shipherd was a Federalist representative to the 13th Congress. The Biographical Directory of the United States Congress lists him as born 15 Nov 1768 in Granville, NY, so does Ancestry.com ("Born in Granville, New York, USA on 15 Nov 1768 to Daniel Shepherd and Mary Rudd. Zebulon Rudd married Nancy Elizabeth Bull and had 6 children. He passed away on 1 Nov 1841 in Mouak-Essex, New York, USA.") Granville was founded in 1780 with early settlers arriving before 1770. A transcript of the baptismal register of the First Presbyterian Church of Amenia, NY, formerly known as the Church of Christ, in Nine Partners, NY, lists under Sept. 30, 1771, "Zebulon Shepherd, son of Daniel & Mary" (Amenia, N.Y. (Nine Partners) First Presbyterian Church). I would very much appreciate input from people familiar with New York and New England settlement history if this is enough evidence for this being the same Zebulon and for his parents being the "Shepherd, Daniel and Mary Rudd, m. Nov. 20, 1766" in Sharon, Connecticut.
