How merge 2 Persons with the same Wikitree ID????

Question

During my 1st Gedcom file import, Wikitree did not correctly import the Dutch surnames starting with "van", "van der", and dropped this part of the name...... Still a bit unknown how to format profiles, I made probably somewhere a mistake with the corrections, resulting in the following situation:

A wife Johanna Wilhelmina Hermse, ID="Hermse-1", is married to two men, both now  ID="Van_der_Pol-55", one named "Johannes (Pol) van der Pol", the other "Johannes van der Pol". In fact it concerns here of course only ONE person, who's real name is  "Johannes van der Pol!"

A real schizoid personality disorder..... resulting in a situation where real siblings are shown as half-siblings!

Since Wikitree refused to merge two personalities with the same ID and  it seems impossible to delete ID's in Wikitree and rebuild them, how to solve this mess? Stop working on this tree?

I think the merge already happened.  I see a Pol-80 that is now merged into Van_der_Pol-55, so hopefully this was what you were aiming for. However, there is only 1 Van_der_Pol-55, and you can't really merge a profile with itself.

I do see where he is married to Hermse-1, and his children are Van_der_Pol-54 and Van_der_Pol-57. Now 54's name is Johanna and her father's name (#55) is Johannes, and his mother is Johanna so I don't know if this is causing confusion.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but I don't see any issues with this as it appears to me. Let me know if I'm missing something.

AHA! I see it - it's just a duplicate marriage on the Hermse-1 profile.

I went ahead and deleted the duplicate marriage and all looks normal once again. Not sure why the system hung onto that duplicate marriage when the profiles merged, but it should be OK now.
