About to pull my hair out, any help appreciated.
Paschal Sexton is the father of my ggrandma Martha Sexton ( whom was married I was told at least 5 times ) siblings Moses, Richard, + 1 ?? Additionally it is TOLD that she was half Cherokee?
Paschal served in the Civil war Union West Virginia 5th inf
The SAME Paskal is the son of "Jesie" and Miram Sexton
The SAME Pascal is Pascal Bartly Sexton was then married to Jemima
Martha Sexton had many children , 1 was named Bradly which become from then on a "important" family name.
Jemima ( 2nd wife ) 1900 census as having 11 children 8 still living Grandson Paskell Adkins living with them
"Jesie" Jesse? on and on gets me no where as of yet, SO many J Sextons
I attempted to jump back further ( don't usually do but was brick walled ) I find Thomas Sexton the Grandson of Bartly/Bartholomey Sexton & Bridgett Sexton 1850 census Irish immigrants . I find the SAME Thomas Sexton convicted of theft in Ireland and imprisoned just a year earlier.
THAT is IT on facts I have.
Theroy ... Bartholomey & Bridgett came to America with grandson Thomas. ( Paschal's name starts a chain of change the SAME Bartholomey becomes Bartley, became Partley in 1860 census , back to Bartley ) A Thomas Sexton of the same age is shown as having a grandson Paschal Bartly. PERHAPS Thomas came to America with his grandparents PERHAPS his father was never in America? PERHAPS Thomas then started the tradition of Bartly ( honor of his grandfather ) that flows through the late 1800's and becomes Bradly by the time of my grandma's generation of 1912 . I KNOW grandma could not read or write.....
ANY help appreciated!!!!!! Link is for Martha
