Why does Wiki Tree allow anonymous questions that may harm living family members?

Question

People should not be allowed to anonymously post questions that may upset living family members about their unfounded assumptions over who has or has not died. If they want to ask these types of questions about the living they should have to sign in and identify themselves as a family member or representative of one.

I agree Jim. Unfortunately not all see it that way or don't stop to think about thr concequences.

Perhaps we can block the ability to post anonimously all to gether.?

I believed that all relatives that are living or unknown would be blocked from public view. I see it's not the case so I'm forced to change settings or delete some pages. Living family members have the right of privacy.

I'm sorry, I thought you were refering to posts on the G2G forum.
But profiles of living person are standard blocked from public view except for their name. Extra privacy settings are available to block them completely and offcourse you always decide yourself what information you are willing to share. Obviously this goes for al information that is posted on the internet.

Stopping the 'anonymous' posts sounds like a decent idea.  People should put in their emails/names/some identifier with their questions.
