Oh my heavens, look at the work EditBot is doing today!!!! It's fixing broken Ancestry links. A link to Ancestry's 1880 Census records brings up ... the 1880 Census record! Yahoooo!!!!!!

The best with the Edit bot is that more people see the benefits with a well written bot. 

The debate on Wikitree was against bots 2 years ago and now the edit bot is I guess one of the users with most thanks and without question the first tool inside WikiTree setting numbers on the quality problems WikiTree has with the lack of a well defined quality process  

Next step would be to do life easier for the bot which is called making data machine readable. 

1. Start add templates for sources —> the edit bot can find profiles with less number of “good” sources and help us see those profiles that needs research 
2. Add what facts a source is evidence for —> easier find profiles with facts without evidence
3. Add quality of source —> easier find profiles with facts that needs a better source in an region etc.

Actually, Ancestry links are always corrected, when EditBOT saves the profile for another reason. I was correcting a few thousand profiles with UTF errors that resulted in no biography display. Here is the log file. The other half will be corrected next week.
