How do wikis manage crowd-sourced editing?

Interesting news bit on National Public Radio this morning about Wikipedia and how it manages the ups and downs of open editing.  The link below is to the mobile site.  You may need to poke around to find it on the normal site (try removing the initial "m." Thanks for sharing. That was interesting to read.  I liked this: "...certainly all the studies show that every article in Wikipedia gets better over time, right? Time is what makes a good article, time and multiple editors."

It's a good point and a nice reminder that as much as we want every profile on WikiTree to be perfect as of yesterday, as time goes on we're going to wind up with a really fantastic collection of "articles".
