Help with Merging Van den Heever-378 with Van den Heever-28

Hello I recently added a profile for Carel Julius van den Heever (Van den Heever-378) unintentionally. I wanted to link it to Van den Heever-28 - who is the same person (my great-grandfather) which is in a tree managed by Sue van den Heever. I thought I linked it in the set-up - but, I clearly did not.

I'm new to the processes on wikitree and I don't want to have a duplicate record. Can someone tell me how to merge the profiles, or help me with the merge? I'd like to continue to add information, but want to fix this duplicate first.

Easy to fix Tracy. On your new profile for Carel, look down in the very bottom left and see in teeny, tiny print "initiate a merge" or something similar. Click on that, which opens new screen with two boxes - top box will have the ID of your Carel, now insert ID of the older (lower #) profile,  Van den Heever-28,  in the empty box below.  Now click on compare to make sure you have indeed, the two profiles intended, then click merge.

Thanks so much for the quick response Patricia. I kept looking for where I could merge the files - but didn't see the teeny tiny option bottom left of the profile! Still a rookie here and will need some help yet...

It takes quite a while to learn your way around. That writing for the merge is so tiny, I can't read what it says. just know that clicking on the fuzzy black line makes it happen :)
