Research Request: Newspaper Article on Murder

I was hoping that someone with a subscription to a Newspaper article site could try to find an article on a murder that supposedly happened.

The only info I know about it is on this find a grave page

https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=59439384

all it says is...... Nancy Kisire "Seana" Swearingen was married to a man with the last name of "Stevenson" (first name unknown) but believe to be "Tom", about 1870. This man, while drunk, killed Seana's brother about 1875 and was sent to prison for 30 years. About 3 years later, she married Riley Dyer. Her two children, born in this marriage to Stevenson, Mary and Sam, took the name "Dyer" for the remainder of their life.

Also the family was all living in Jackson County, Tennessee during this time.

There has got to be some kind of article on this

I have an ancestry subscription and would be willing to do some searching for records for any records you might me needing to find, in return for your help :)

Call or write the Jackson County library

 205 W Hull Ave, Gainesboro, TN 3856

I have a subscription and will look it up when I get home from work if no one else does first.
That would be awesome! :)
Forgot, maybe I'll remember tonight. I just figured out how to find the G2G threads I have saved.

Stephanie,

Have you tried the Chronicling America website through the Library of Congress.  There you can do a statewide search of their digital newspaper collection. http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/  I use this free database on a daily basis.  I tried a search selecting Tennesse, 1875 and Stevenson and got 169 results, too many for me to quickly look through.  I am not familiar with the names of the towns and newspapers for the area, so you may have better luck.  Best Wishes
