What do i do about a profile that i'm sure is incorrect in the last name?

I did not create the profile, but it is in my line. I am quite sure there was a typo on entry, as parents and children and some of the included references use the 'correct' name. I have contacted the profile owner (not too long ago). I am concerned that any edits that i might make will affect his 'identity'. The profile is Pothemus-2

Thanks for any help you can give.

It does look like "Pothemus" should be Polhemus, since that (or variations like Polhemius) is the spelling for the rest of the family and throughout the text sections (biography and sources) of the profile.

The profile manager is active, but hasn't edited in the last week or so. She may need some time to respond.

You will need the profile manager's involvement to fix the error in spelling the LNAB. But if you are eager to do some cleanup on the profile, add more sources, etc., I can't imagine that the profile manager would object.

You could send a message to the PM, or ask to be on the trusted list. It appears all of the records for Joseph and his father spell it 'Pothemus' so you may be right - it may have been a typo. The pm is active, so should respond.
Best of luck!
