Genealogy software used offline.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, I am still trying to find my way around all the neat features on here.

I am curious what genealogy software people are using on their own computers now.  I have been using Family Tree Maker since the first edition, until it became strictly an online subscription.  I recently changed to a GNU version of Gramps but; I am finding it to have a very steep learning curve.

I like what I have seen of Wiki-Tree, with what limited time I have had to look at it but; I want my family tree on my computer too.

Looking forward to any comments

Try Roots Magic Free edition. It takes up less space and memory on the computer. It may work better for you than Gramps.

I use Family Tree Maker and it isn't an online-only subscription.

Family Tree Maker

Legacy gets good reviews. I use Brother's Keeper but find the gedcom does not export perfectly to WikiTree.  I still love Brother's Keeper mainly because it does a lot of reports that WikiTree doesn't.

I use Roots Magic - the paid one is a reasonable price and you can also publish it online for family privately.

Second RootsMagic; while at heart a Windows program, it can be run on a Mac.
Third on RootsMagic!! You can down load a free version but I promise you'll end up purchasing it. :) Fantastic program.

At the moment, I'm not using any genealogical software. My personal computer crashed.  I had part of my genealogy on Roots Magic and part on Legacy Family Tree, which had free updates.

I am using RootsMagic. I also had trouble with the Gramps learning curve. I actually found WikiTree via RootsMagic hints.

I use MyFamilyTree which is clearly the best genealogical app available for download from the Windows store, and on top of that it's freeware.Hasn't let me down.
