hi i'm new here, does anyone know how to create a family tree like on ancestry?

Hi Alanna, Welcome to WikiTree. 

You would want to start with our New Member How-To pages. These will save you a lot of time and answer many of your questions as you begin to add your family tree.

We are different then Ancestry as we only have one profile represented for each person on WikiTree. Ancestry has many trees and many profiles for the same person. 

Take your time and go through the How to pages one step at a time. Also here's a video to assist as well:

Hi Alanna, welcome to WikiTree. Once you have added some profiles, you can use the Dynamic Tree link in your WikITree ID menu (menu bar on the top right, your WIkiTree ID is Harrhy. That page will let you move around on the tree, ind of like you can with an Ancestry tree. It will have everyone's profiles on it if you have connected your twig because we are all one big family tree, not lots of little individual trees. Hope that helps

Once you have signed the honor code, you will be able to create more profiles for your ancestors. Each profile has a "Family tree & tools" tab at the top, so you can see the family tree as it relates to each person from there. Click on your own once you've added parents and grandparents, you'll see your tree. The tools also have a descendency view option, so if you are on, say, 4th ggfather, you can see his descendants for five generations. There are other options too, but those are the two I use most.
