Help adding me to trusted list with no response

I sent a request to be added to trusted list for Pettit-953. He is the son of my Pettit-1731. I sent it Sept 13.  Today I accidentally sent a second request and realizes the first one had not been answered.  what do I do to add the son?


Sorry, you have probably answered this before but couldn’t find a solution.

On the Family Tree and Tools tab, in the contact section, there is a link to submit an unresponsive profile manager request form.

This profile manager is active, so this doesn't qualify for a unresponsive profile manager request.  The procedure to follow is Help:Unresponsive Profile Managers under "If they've made recent contributions".

However, even that shouldn't be necessary.  You don't need to be on the trusted list to add or remove parents and children (unless they are Project Protected).  If you've tried to communicate with the PM and they don't answer, you can make the link yourself if you've determined that it is valid.

@Kerry: It is possible to submit an Unresponsive request for an active member. Sometimes active members fail to respond to trusted lists requests, profile messages, and private messages. Maybe the email that comes from is going into their spam folder, or maybe they have been ignoring it. Either way, the Unresponsive Profile Manager process can be the stimulus that gets them to start being Responsive.

@Kerry, the profile she is trying to access is private (locked) so she cannot add parents unless she is on the trusted list.
@Ellen, perhaps it is technically possible to submit a UPM for an active manager, but where does it say it is acceptable to do that?  When we submit, the system asks us to confirm that the PM has not made a contribution in the past 60 days and that we've sent them a public and private request more than seven day ago.  I'd like to know if I've missed an exception to the policy.

Edit:  I stand corrected.  The page does says it is acceptable to use the UPM request if they still don't respond.  My bad.

@Deb, perhaps I'm confused.  Pettit-953 is Public and Pettit-1731 is Open.  Fortunately, Barbara says the problem is resolved.

The Pettit-953 profile is still only Public, so Barbara stiil can't edit it or connect it to family. And the profile manager last edited in December 2016. Barbara now has a path to resolving the situation, but it's not resolved yet.
Maybe the message to the rest of us should be "Please be considerate of your cousins."
