Thanks Frank! i really appreciated the info. I'll share this with my sons and cousins, for they have little understanding of what their relatives had in their "secret" history. My Uncle ran the "Shine" from the mountains of Southern WV, during prohibition to Knoxville, TN or Asheville, NC, then return with the empty containers back to the producers. So he was running, to and then running back. MY Grandfather was a Baptist Deacon at his church, and threw my Uncle out of the house for his secret endeavors. He knew nothing about his secret employment until, one of my other Uncles, who happened to be a WV State Trooper, came asking of his son's whereabouts, explaining to him why the authorities were looking for him. My Uncle never talked about his clandestine job, but others in the area I was raised, often talked about him, with some very interesting stories of his chase and near-misses with the law. It's all very interesting, and although it was illegal, it's still a part of our Great Americana Story.
