I would like to know the Father of Simon Reeves born 1840 in Georgia

Question

I am searching for the parents of Simon Reeves born 1840 in Georgia. He waa married to Elmira Reeves born 1848 in Georgia. Simon is my Great Great Grandfather. He is found on the 1870 Census in Monroe County, Ga. with his wife Elmira(Mira) and kids.
In Pike County in 1880 in Barnesville which later became Lamar County.
Simon 's son. Sam is my GGF.
I have tried for over 10 years and empty handed.

I failed to mention that Simon Reeves is of African American descent and is found in 1880 in Barnesville Georgia in Pike County Georgia and just two doors down is his assumed brother Joshua.
I have been searching probate records and a Simon who identifies with him has been found in the will of a Zachariah Fryer but a F.H Reeves lived in the same area who was also a farmer. There are other names from the area like Isom, Isham, Cyrus who are Simon,a believed brothers. This is so hard and any help from anyone with experience in slave research or willing to help is much appreciated. Thanks so much.   P.R
