How do I find existing GEDCOM files for Gittins

Family Search will not allow me to download a GEDCOM file. I'm trying create a GEDCOM file for my family, so far I have traced my ancestors back to 1535 in the town of Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales. The name spelling varies from the present day Gittins  to Gyttyns in 1535. Other spellings exist such as Gittens. What does a GEDCOM file format look like, can anyone please post an example for me ?

FamilySearch does not have an export to GedCom function for their site.

There is a Chrome browser extension called WikiTree-X that you can install and should allow you to transfer data from FamilySearch to WikiTree -- one profile at a time.

Otherwise, the GedCom file format is basically plain text where each line starts with a max four letter code to represent each data field, followed by a maximum of 72 characters of data (combined to be no more than a maximum of 80 characters -- as if we were still using the old IBM data punch cards). There are sites online that describe the specification in more detail. But the format is far from standard, and is only used as a transfer file format between differing genealogy applications. Because of application differences, some data fields supported in one, may be omitted in the other, and visa versa.
