What to do when a member removes anything I add to profile she manages?

Manager of Green profile for which I am on Trusted List removes everything I do to the profile by restoring and making this comment "restored personally preferred format". I have never seen that format used by any other WT member.

Looks OK to me. Not really very far off the style I use. I for one hate seeing the research notes AFTER the sources. The Citations and sources should be the last item and research notes before them as far as I am concerned. Each to their own of course!!

I'm actually not opposed to this format - it is readable, understandable, meets all the "citation" requirements imposed by other sites. And thanks, David, for pointing out that perhaps I should rethink when I post research notes as to their placement. It makes a lot more sense after seeing it this way to post them where they are more prominent than to hide them near the bottom.

As regards comments I guess it really depends on what the comment is about. It could be argued that if a comment is about a source and that source is then implemented on the profile then the comment is superfluous. What it boils down to then is will the person submitting the source feel offended if their input is removed? I can't answer for anyone else but my personal view would be that the source had been implemented, WikiTree had been enhanced and who submitted the source is not relevant but others may prefer to get a mention in the text if the comment is to be removed.

Other comments regarding merges obviously should remain until a merge is completed, rejected or put on hold and in the latter two cases the original comment should probably remain. Again for me, I would not be in the least bit offended if the comment proposing the merge was deleted after the merge had taken place but the thickness of my hide is measured in inches not millimetres! :)

@Scott: actually the guidelines say they should be before the sources as well.

I have to admit that I sometimes bend the rools a bit as I prefer to use  Timeline  rather than  Biography  where this information being imparted is simply a set of timeline data. To me a biography is a story about the person so if that is what I am doing then I use Biography sometimes followed by Timeline, and when just a set of event sections I use Timeline in preference to Biography. I just feel it describes what the reader is about to read a little better.

The profile manager does NOT own the profile.  Other than technical management:

In all other ways, the manager is just like everyone else on the Trusted List. Everyone on the Trusted List has the power to edit and merge, and gets alerted to changes to the profile through their activity feeds.

The Profile Manager role isn't about power. It's about leadership. The manager is expected to lead in the protection and improvement of the profile. If they're currently unable or unwilling to lead, it's best that they let someone else manage the profile.

But, she *is* the manager for the profile in question, she kinda gets the last word when resolving conflicts

Unfortunately, some do not follow the recommended style guide.

Have you tried adding a source to substantiate your request for the changes to the profile? Have you talked to the profile manager and collaborated on the changes?
