Question

The Categorization Project on WikiTree is the place where discussion happens to help develop categories for use across the site. Because so many people use them, it is important that structure of categories is discussed before major implementation and the Categorization Project helps facilitate that, as well as set up new categories, fix erroneous categories, and apply them. I would like to join the categorisation project. I need to understand it better myself and in so doing, I’ll be able to help others and keep my area of the site spick and span.

I am English and so feel I must start with that.

I have done a lot of Categorization and am very familiar with wiki markup.  I find Categorization extremely useful.

Hi! I'd like to join the project. I'm working on categorizing towns and shtetls in pre-WWI Russia (Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine). It would be good to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks!

I have been working on maintaining county categories for England and Scotland and will be adding the French Roots Project to the mix.  I have become addicted to using categories and would love to help clean them up as needed as well.  Would love to join the project.  Thanks!

I've been looking over some things on the last few weeks. Plenty to do, but some things need discussion before changes are made. .There are, for now, two mini-tasks in the table on the project page.

I have started using Catagories and think it looks a good Project to help, Am now going to try and add Hardley is a suburb of the village of Holbury in the Parish of Fawley in the County of Hampshire, England

Only goes down to Fawley at the moment . . .wish me luck, It will give me experience of how it all work . . . .Geoff
