How to find people who were born or died on a certain date?

Hi all,

The "Search for a Person" section in the SearchPerson function ("Search" from the Find menu) requires at least a last name. However, I'd like to search people with any name, with a date entered in either date field. Using asterisks in the name fields produces a warning message.

For profiles on my watchlist only, I can use the anniversary list, or sort my watchlist by date of birth. But for WikiTree as a whole, is there a way to find all people who were born or died on a given date (for example on 2 Nov 1817)?

Thanks!

Lennart

As a sidenote, it isn't obvious (at least to me) that a last name is required for searches. Maybe a note could be added on top, saying which fields are required? Or a green question mark next to the first and last name fields, like the five fields further down already have (which link to Help:Search).

I don't think it can be done, within WikiTree. You can search across all open, indexed profiles using Google with a string such as: "02 Nov 1817" site:wikitree.com

That's probably as close as you will get.
