The record of Frederick Thornton Peters VC DSO, Peters-7451, (1889 - 1942) has no profile manager. He is a very decorated veteran of WWI and WWII who died in combat during WWII. He has been awarded the Victoria Cross | Distinguished Service Order | Distinguished Service Cross (United Kingdom) | Distinguished Service Cross (United States) | 1914 Star | Victory Medal | 1939-1945 Star | Atlantic Star | Africa Star | Defence Medal (United Kingdom) | War Medal 1939-1945 I believe this record should receive PPP protection.

Frederick Peters' profile does not seem to fit the guidelines for PPP.

Please see: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Project_Protection.

He is certainly a distinguished veteran though.

Natalie, thanks for your quick response. Wouldn't he fall under the Military project though? He is a noted individual by Wikipedia as he has his own page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Thornton_Peters and other sites i.e. http://www.navalandmilitarymuseum.org/archives/articles/local-heroes/captain-frederic-thornton-peters.

Well, I tried anyway:-)
At the moment, he is not part of that project. He should be a Notable, since he has a wikipedia page, but even that is not enough. There are many famous generals of WWI and WWII who are not PPP.

Why do you believe he needs PPP? Is there vandalism or are they many duplicates being created?
No, I haven't seen any vandalism but was trying to protect it because there is currently no profile manager and thought PPP would be a good choice. It's not a problem at all as I'm willing to adopt the profile.

Thanks for your help!
Great! Don't forget to add him to Notables. Thanks, Barry.
Will do
As mentioned, this is certainly a Notable profile and could be included in that category.

PPP is used to protect profiles that have a higher than normal risk of being changed in error; for instance if there are 2 profiles that are commonly confused.   PPP does not indicate notability or importance of a profile.
Thanks for explaining that better, Keith.

This seems to happen more often in profiles of people who may have many people adding this specific person in their tree, which may have conflicting/incorrect information. Collaboration will still happen.
