Shared Photo: Kambitsch and Triesch Families at 1915 World's Fair

Question

I wanted to share this photograph of my ancestors at the 1915 World's Fair in San Francisco. Descendants of German immigrants, Joseph Kambitsch and Peter Triesch settled in Idaho and Eastern Washington. They married sisters (Regina and Laura Gerhardt), had many children and prospered.
Location: San Francisco California. Date: 1915.

What a great photo! There is a lot of history behind that picture.

One of the things I like to do, with my genealogy, when I find an artifact of some sort, is look up some history about that time and item. Here is a fun bit on the 1915 World Fair!

Thank you! Your top ten draws of San Francisco's 1915 World's Fair is amazing. I think many of us can't fathom that 102 years ago there were sophisticated things happening, and prosperous Americans were spending a week enjoying the modern inventions of that time.

Very nice photo, Bart.  I love that everyone is dressed so formally, including hats.  I especially love those mustaches! It's great that someone listed all the complete names.  Thanks for sharing this fun picture!

This photo says so much about early 20th century America. The exuberance, the thrill the children must have experienced, the new prosperity that allowed everyday people to travel to a world's fair. Just wonderful.
