Our JR project has so much that fascinates and needs more examination. I'm interested in Social History, not wars, for instance. I've seen many accomplished genealogists ask Jewish Roots questions and ANSWER them, and it seems so clear that we should be able to share things that work in our research and those horrid BLOCK WALLS.

Everyone's story is different, and the hardest ones include ancestors without names and other vitals.  By our members sharing, All of that should advance so we can see all our family lines and the culture of our particular ancestors and where they immigrated to.

I am a rookie but would like to join the JR project. My maternal grandparents were Centrall European Jews who emigrated to the USA at the end of the19th century. Grandpa Louis Eisenberg was born in Kamen Kashirskyi and Grandma Rachel Fischbach from Jagielnica in Galicia.  Hopefully I can develop skills to learn about them and about their shtetl.  If I can help grow the project, well that would be awesome.

Thank you!

Hi Paul

In one way or another, we’re all rookies.  You have a better start, knowing your grandparents, than many. Welcome to the group.  I’ll make sure you get a badge.
Thank you for the welcome Robert
Welcome, Paul. I didn't discover the Jewish part of my roots rapidly. First a hint when a teen from my mother, and I was too unaware to notice it much.

Then much more recently, I took an auDNA test at ftdna.com, and wow, I found many of them and visited one family on both coasts. It was late in the lives of two of them, so the message came to me to visit them NOW (that was 2014), and what a lovely idea that became. I hope you'll get tested if you've not already done that.

My high regards, truly and simply,

Roberta Burnett
