Why is this profile project protected?

According the sources that are easily available, this is all that is known about this person:

- He was married to Jeanne Vincent

- He had several children including Nicolas Millet

- He must have lived in Neuville-aux-Bois (near Pithiviers, Loiret, at that time Orléanais province).

The daughter who is currently attached is incorrect (he did a have a daughter Jeanne, but not this one).

His parents appear to be mythology: there is not a source in sight.

Does anyone have more information to help clean up this profile's relations?

And why it is protected?

Thank you !

We can't tell as it doesn't have a Project Template and it is not managed by a project.

Should ask the profile managers.

Yes - as an aside, having checked the change log of the profile, I could no see who protected it and when.

As this person never emigrated, he does not fit in the Quebecois project, is that correct?

If so the only project the profile would fit in is French Roots (or Global Reunion?)
He is the ggfather for Noel Langlois and lived in France.

Noel ==> https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Langlois-83

I know some one is questionning Noel's ancestors at this time.

Yes - he is an emigrant ancestor.

But I believe the genealogy here is wrong. Noël Langlois was Jeanne Millet, and Jacques Millet had a daughter named Jeanne too, but they must have been born about 35 years apart if my math is right.

This person is however the father of Nicolas Millet  --> https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Millet-105

Nicolas Millet has a fine fichier origine with the births of all his siblings (all available online through Archives Départementales du Loiret)  No further information about his parents.

I can't find a source for Jacques Millet's parents (though there might be a record in the earliest baptism records for Neuville-aux-Bois, 1584-1596 - anyone interested in browsing it?). The parish did not keep marriage records before 1630 or -40, so no luck there. I can't find a source for his death either. Some genealogies say it's 9 April 1657, but I checked the register, and it's not there.

As for Jeanne, I would suggest keeping the present Jeanne (Millet-17) as mother of Noël Langlois. Which means reverting her birth date back to c. 1592 (it was edited recently) and disconnecting Jacques Millet and Jeanne Vincent as parents.

I can add the proper baptism references for Millet-105 (Nicolas).

somebody probably either asked for protection with a pending merge to preserve the name and did not remove the ppp afterward, on both him and his wife.  Just did a bit of cleaning up on the profile and added the data on Nicolas' profile as well from Fichier origine, it looks to me as theough most of the data on his supposed parents and birth comes from a Geni tree, not removed that part so it can be tracked down there if necessary.

Jeanne Millet attached to him now should be detached, we don't know her parentage.

Finally catching up on this - Jeanne is detached.

There's "only" the parents to sort out now. Let's not be prejudiced :D

The profile was locked on 24 September 2012.  You may wish to ask the person who made that edit why it was locked.

Oddly enough, I could not find this information in the change log. It probably had something to do with a merge.
Nothing that complex.  Check your email V*@live for screen shots.
OK, thank you David. The problem is I don't understand protecting a profile with probably fictitious parents attached... but it was done before the rules were clarified.
