I am Melissa Burgess. I have a family tree that has been handed down to me.

"Parents of Desire Ashley were both born in England. Zenas Ashley married Hannah Smith.

Their children were

 Desire Ashley born in Otsego Co. NY married Thomas Slocum

At Hope Cemetery in Elk Creek Township, Cranesville, Pennsylvania we have a Revolutionary Soldier buried.  His name is Zenas Ashley.  I found his burial in the Record  Military Burials of Pennsylvania.  He was suppose to be living with is daughter Desire and Thomas in Girard Pennsylvania at the time.
It states, Zenas Ashley  Erie County, Born 1765 Died Feb. 18, 1840 - Veteran of Rev.  Served in the Army 3 1783 - Nov. 1783  Major Gideon Bransons Trs.  Rank Pvt.  Cemetery or place of interment  Hope  Wellsburg Pa (that's what is  Elk Creek Township)  Section Old E. Row 2.  Headstone  Family.  Information given by Edw. Schmelzer  7 -29-35.
