Is there an easy way to find out who rejected a match?

I had a perfect match, same exact birthdate and death date, same parents name albeit different profiles, same marriage etc. and the match was rejected. I want to question whoever rejected it and cannot assume it was the other Project manager.

I went through rejected matches but was on 500 and was not 3 hours back, this rejection could of been 24 hours away.

Am I missing a simpler way to find out who dun it?

I've had success with Browse Merges - http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:BrowseMatches - by selecting rejected and restricting to a single surname.

Yes that was the answer, never saw the single name box, there were still 200 to go through but I found it and reinitiated it. Thanks for the tip Liz.
Is it possible to implement CTRL-F on the link displayed by Liz?  It just bonks when I try.

When looking at the surname of Wilson the pages appear to be endless.  I am curious why Wilson-10418 and Wilson-13320 were rejected.

Currently when I find what appears to be an exact match and both have the same PM, I have just been putting a request on the PM profile page asking if they can take a second look at the two profiles.

Thank-you!
If you're looking for profiles that you're on the trusted list for, you can restrict by both name and your watchlist. Thanks for keeping after those non-merging PMs! (Also, I'll go try to find the discussion asking for boxes to explain unmerged matches & rejects.)

Cheers, Liz
Liz,

Thanks for the link  To merge or not to merge can be challenging.  Hopefully, when someone merges 2 profiles they are willing to dedicate the time to verify information which may slightly differ.  Matching profiles can be difficult due to good sources with conflicting information.  For instance, information transcribed by U.S. Census workers contain human error with spelling of names.  Perfection may be a dream; but, effort and accountability are always expected and and self-rewarding.

As any tree grows, decisions made on how to keep it healthy must always include trimming.   Any good gardner must assess risk/ reward.  I really like the idea of a short report template, within a profile, that explains why 2 profiles have been rejected as duplication.  Perhaps, this idea would save a lot of time, space, and encourage meaningful collaboration.

So happy to see the comment yesterday by Eowyn... "In Progress!"

Not sure how to answer this, but here goes.  Under the profile you wanted to merge with, there should be a time date with a message showing who rejected the match. If not there, check the changes tab on the profile.

I am sorry to say the only date is the date the merge was proposed, no names of users or I would have seen that already and it does not show in the changes tab either.

I am thinking the easiest is to propose the merge again and explicitly ask for reasons if it going to be rejected. I think the reason might be it is a fairly new user and having to merge three generations of parents is confusing her even though I am offering to do the merges and the bio cleanup.
Hi Rhain - I think that your suggested action is a good way forward and one I have used on occassion - mostly succesfully :)
I agree, Rhian. Your suggestion would work.  I'm sorry I couldn't have helped you more.

Mmm...I could have sworn I've seen the identity of the person who rejected the merge somewhere....
It does show up in the rejected merges feed but there are thousands a day to sort through.
You don't remember the profile?
