Do you have connection/knowedge of the HARRIS families of PICTOU, NOVA SCOTIA from late 1700's to early 1800's?

Question

To be brief: my great-great-great-Grandmother, Ann Harris (aka Maria Ann Harris) married William Murdock in Pictou, Nova Scotia on Aug. 7, 1828. They had at least nine kids, all born in Pictou. He (William) died Nov 1871 but she was still alive. Most info I've seen indicates she (ANN) was Born in Pictou. I cannot find her actual parents' names, though there were only three Harris families in Pictou in the 1817 census to which she could have belonged. DOES ANY OF THIS RING A BELL WITH YOU? I was in Pictou, NS end of Aug searching for my family. We went to the very small, but very knowledgeable research center. Pictou is a very small place and very friendly. You could look them up and they would be most happy to help you. If the family you are looking for lived there, they would know.

They also will continue to research if they can't find them right away. It was originally a Scottish settlement, thus the name Nova Scotia (New Scotland) I'm sure you knew this. You live so close to NS, a spring jaunt up the coast, if possible, is delightful. We loved it.
