Apologies are offered by me

I want to apologize for getting so annoyed at what seemed such an obvious error.  Checking with Scotland's People site realized that my Great Grandmother was not born before my great grandfather.  It was my Great Grandfather Grandmother who was born 10 years earlier than her husband.  Only out by about 2 generations.  Sorry about that.

Still feel the I have some errors in this file as now am coming up with  different number:with Nicoll-517.  This is getting worse and worse.  Not sure if it was Larry or me who made all these errors.

So sorry about my error.

Hi E. Lauraine,

It shows up as a merge in the change log when you change the last name at birth. Because the numbers are associated with the surname, changing it means that it is assigned a new number hence why it is now Nicoll-517 when it was Nicol-1074 before.

If the dates and connections to family are correct then I don't think there's anything wrong with her page. Well done.

Paula
Looked up her birth recently and it shows her as a Nicoll NOW - but was sure it was Nicol but with all the errors recently made with the name am unsure.  As it now states her name as Nicoll redid her name even tho her parents are both designated as Nicol.  they are definitely on Scotland's People as Nicol.  Ha ha - the last names in Scotland at the time were often spelled differently by the same people but am putting like its shown in Scotland People.  Thank you forr the comment about the name becoming a different number.  Do appreciate all the help everyone has given.

E. Lauraine...  No apologies necessary!!!

Nicoll-517 is the result of the merge that you must have accidently made. (See your changes and you will find: "Merged Nicol-1074 into Nicoll-517").  You and your cousin are both profile managers.  It is ok, there are no more duplicates.  Again my suggestion is to just correct the errors you see on this profile. It is not as bad as it seems, honest. That is why you can always edit your profiles, we all make mistakes from time to time.

No worries. Genealogy means never having to say your sorry. ;)

That is true but when one more or less accuses others of making errors, it seems to me one must apologize.  The Nicol / Nicoll files seems very confused and not sure if it was me or Larry or both of us who contributed to these errors.

Thank you for your kind comment.
