We are researching the Cumming family who lived at Braeside, Kellas, Morayshire in the approximate period 1700-1850.

We have recorded about 50 family members from that period.  Surnames on that part of our tree include Gallon, Skeen, McQueen, Manson, Buie, Junken, McBeath, Taylor, Paul, Douglas, Grant, Shaw and Brown.

One family member, William Cumming (1791-1878), emigrated to Canada about 1820 and settled in Milton, Ontario.  We have done a fairly thorough job of recording his descendants, and have found 2100 so far.  Most of them live(d) in Canada, with about 10% in the USA.

We would be interested in contacting others who have researched this family, and in particular, finding about other family members who did not join William in Canada.

I doubt this helps but the descendants of Farquhart Cumming of Kellas son of Alexander of Altyr (seal 1584) renounced the name Cumming and became Farquhartson.
