Unusual relationship connection

Question

Tonight I decided to check and update the information in regards to my connection to the Magna Carta barons. 

Interesting point: Regarding Bigod-1 and Bigod-2...
Relationship with Bigod-1 is currently calculated to be 24th GG father and the relationship with Bigod-2 calculated to be 23rd GG father. Curious thing occurs at the 10th generation when the finder runs from one parent to the other and ignoring that Bigod-2 is the father of Bigod-1...

Anyway, the whole point was to first checking on the connections, and then make a note of which connections (if any) are suspect according to project notations

Wow.  I've only seen it choose the longest route, but now it seems to be going for the shortest.

Yeah, a number of the relational connections have changed as a result of checking - in some cases a baron listed as 24th, 25th or 26th GG father is approximately 2-3 generations closer... Or an uncle now listed as a cousin

I periodically go check all of my connections because things do change from time to time.  I have Seen these things change every time someone updates, adds or removes a connection somewhere back in time.

For the examples you listed, I had

Hugh (Bigod) le Bigod is my 22nd great grandfather.

Roger Bigod is my 28th great grandfather...

It is kind of weird that there's 6 generations between the two when they are Father & son, but they are through a totally different line.

But checking again just now shows no change, so I must have updated more recently.  But I am going to check all the others now ...

I'm also in the midst of updating my table recording my connections to the Presidents of the US. Number of connections now non existant
