Seeking Govero/Stinson/McReynolds of Washington County MO and Alton IL

+3 votes
Hello! I am new here and enjoying figuring out how to navigate this resource. I am mainly interested in finding information about the children of Joseph and Dora (Stinson) Govero, born in Old Mines, MO in the first decade of the 20th century, and adopted by three separate families in around 1910. My maternal grandpa, Edgar Nelson, was adopted by the McReynolds family of Alton, IL, when he was four. He had an older brother and a younger sister named Catherine.

Welcome to G2G forum Nicoya,

Your grandparents are listed in this 1930 Census sheet, they had a baby named Raymond and they all were living with the McReynolds (Lines 41 to 45).

Perhaps this Joseph F. Govero is your great grandfather because of the place and the date of death, but I couldn't find any more information.

It'd be very difficult to find any information on your grandfather's siblings without knowing the last names they went by.

I hope this information may be of some help in your search.

Best of luck.

So neat! Thank you! My mom is digging through her paperwork to see if she has her dad's siblings' information. They were adopted quite young and to three separate families.

You're welcome Nicoya. Many thanks for Best Answer.

Please post a new question as soon as you have some information on your grandfather's siblings.

Have a nice day.
