Through ancestry I believe Col. john Tipton is my 6th great uncle, how can I prove it through wiki?

The best way to show your connection would be to build out your Tipton line, sourcing as you go, until you reach the family unit that includes Colonel John.

If you are viewing a tree on ancestry that already indicates that you are related to him then you can use that to get some clues to follow, but you would need to check sources for each generation to ensure that you are climbing the right branch of the tree.

Hi Kathryn, I have proposed a merge between the profile of John's brother  William and your great great etc grandfather William as they have the same dates and places. The next step is to source all the profiles from you back to William to ensure all the connections are correct.
