How can I upload a PDF of family history from my profile for interested members with some amount of protection/privacy?

So I have written and printed a couple of books on our family ancestry going back several generations. While the book is not copyrighted, I would like to make it available to family members who may be interested. We also may need to protect it in some way in the event that some may be tempted to use it for their own profit or misuse it. Question: does wikitree have the ability to host a PDF that will allow family members to download from my profile (MAXTED-74)? If not, do they have any recommendations as to who might be able to host it and provide access to interested members? The books carry a lot of history relating to the period in which my ancestors lived as well. Please help!

I'd release it under a creative commons license. This would prohibit the scenarios you describe. Another thought, would anyone be able to profit from publishing this info if it was available for free on the internet?

You may want to look at this page  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Genealogy_Resource_Exchange

and add your information, or the synopsis of what you have recorded and invite interested members to use it.
Copyright regulations differ in each country and one should refer to the appropriate government website involved. Many times two particular countries will not recognize copyright status of the other country. It is a very complicated subject matter best answered by a copyright lawyer.

I don't know if Wikitree has any facility for that, but from a personal view, things like that I have a dropbox account for. That then gives you the full control over who accesses it.
