Hi I think this was a great question and probably something more members are wondering about, so I will translate it + the answer:
Do I get this right, are all early pre-1800 (=DR Pre-1811) profiles PPP candidates and should they all now have the project account added as co-manager, I manage quite a lot of these, so it's going to take me quite some time to correct this for all of them ?
To make it more clear for everyone under which project profiles fall or from which project they get PPP (project protection), from now a Project Template (PPP) and the Project Account or project profile, now always go together, and of course this is not only this way for our project, but for all projects this now works the same.
For our Project, all profiles from before and around 1811 are candidates for project management and/or PPP, because that's when people officially had to adopt last names. Another reason of course is duplication and profiles that were and still are added or created with backwards projected last names or the 'American/English' versions of those later surnames (with the capitalized prepositions or pasted together as one surnames.)
By working with Projects on all early WikiTree profiles, we try to ensure that all early profiles and lineages are sourced and accurate and to keep the earliest generations free from duplicates, so that's why they often standard will receive Project Protection (PPP) and fall under Project Management. We all work on them and now they can be monitored by Project members, of course everyone, including WikiTree members who didn't join projects, can help with adding sources etc.
All duplicates, old or new, now are going to be merged into those PPP profiles, PPP will lock the LNAB field and the Parents, so the correct name or the right patronymic is never by accident going to be merged away nor will anyone be able to, without asking or unnoticed, remove or add parents, only the manager, Project Coordinators or leader will be able to add or remove parents. So for this, people will always first have to communicate and ask.
The Project Account is not really a manager, and is not added to take over profiles of course, everyone remains manager (although this can also vary per Project), it is just a tool or means for projects that provides a Project overview and only this way a Project Watchlist and Feeds are generated that make it possible to manage these profiles together with all members.
It is of course logical that it isn't possible to have this done for all profiles in just 1 day, especially if you manage a lot of early profiles, so in the near future there will also be several 'Project' suggestions in WT + and everyone can review their own WT + suggestion lists themselves and add the project, a project template or both to the early profiles if needed.
Or if the later profiles do not really need project management then the templates for those profiles can be changed into the Sticker.
If people manage a lot of profiles and want help with this, Ales sometimes can do things automatically for many profiles at once, so maybe he can also automatically change templates for later (after 1811) profiles into the sticker or add the project account as co manager to early profiles that do not have it added yet, but I'll have to ask him and of course everyone must let him know whether he or she likes or finds it ok and more convenient if Ales is going to help and do this, or if they would rather do it themselves.
And of course Rome wasn't build in one day either, so take your time we will have some time to implement the changes ;)
