What evidence proves Morgan was the correct name of Lydia S Johnson?

The LDS trees on familysearch show Lydia S.'s LNAB to be Morgan, but I've not been able to find any confirming evidence that that is so.  Her husband was John Johnson and they wee married in 1842 in Fernandina, Nassau, Florida, USA.  I've looked for the marriage record online and I've not been able to find it.  The PM lists her LNAB as "S." which should never be the case.  One doesn't use an abbreviation as a full name, does one?

Is the information on the LDS family trees correct in making her last name at birth Morgan?

All I find is Sons of the American Revolution application by Eugene Allen Johnson who claims he is a descendant of Obediah Johnson Jr. His great grandfather is listed as John Johnson married to Lydia Morgan.

This is the comment I edited off. If you check the document, you'll see it's for a John Johnson born in Connecticut about forty years before the profile guy

yes, unfortunately census records of that time frame did use only a first initial and S and L are difficult to discern. Follow the family backward and forward if possible in census records, and widen your search.

I have had experience in reading birth, marriage, and death records, etc. in the Cayman Islands and doing my own transcriptions of the handwriting.  In many cases, I can discern the difference between an L and an S.

You didn't, however, attempt to answer my question.  Was her LNAB Morgan as the LDS family trees show?  I've not found the 1842 marriage record and no baptismal records for her.  Her birthplace seems to have been in Florida, not Georgia as one ancestry.com family tree shows.
Then as suggested you need to do follow up and check 1850 and 1870, both ~should~ be available for that state... you should know that LDS has to be checked.

You seem to be asking for a research effort on Morgan as last name, possibly, instead of a census clarification.
I have her up here in N.C. died and actually found a grave of her and was perplexed and wonders who she was , could be a different one though but a few of my ancestors did migrate to GA FL and KY just to name a few ..
