I don't go swimming in rivers, lakes, ponds. There are THINGS in the water.

Little things,  big things. Bad things.

The star of today's movie might seem familiar. David Nykl played Radek Zelenka , the victim many times of Rodney McKay's scorn on Stargate Atlantis.

Eddie, there is nothing quite like going for your first skinny dip in a creek, river or lake! The only thing to be worried about is the snapping turtles!! They just do not let go.
Wow David I do t think I work enjoy that very much a snapping turtle.

Do they really do that?

YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO GET BITTEN BY ONE.

10 Biting Facts About Snapping Turtles BY MARK MANCINI

Read more here: http://mentalfloss.com/article/68505/10-biting-facts-about-snapping-turtles

Behavior

In their environment, they are at the top of the food chain, causing them to feel less fear or aggression in some cases. When they encounter a species unfamiliar to them such as humans, in rare instances, they will become curious and survey the situation and even more rarely may bump their nose on a leg of the person standing in the water. Although snapping turtles have fierce dispositions, when they are encountered in the water or a swimmer approaches, they will slip quietly away from any disturbance or may seek shelter under mud or grass nearby. Common snapping turtles are very aggressive if caught, and have a strong enough bite to easily amputate human fingers.

Wow David just saw the we side and the turtle eat and pineapple I thought that they where sweet little think that would not hurt anyone. do you have different turtle that we have in Denmark? I was so surprised when I saw those turtle. Rather nasty, I actually love turtle very much but. Can se I am not going to swim with them.

Eddie, not only does Arkansas have the Fouke Monster, there is also Whitey.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_J6vGKFVkM  Whitey

and Fouke Monster  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg6QxYT7IS8  I know the the Fouke Monster is real because my daddy told me so. He said there was something in those woods.
Eddie, I went snorkeling in Hawaii.  Having been a swimming teacher / life guard in my youth I am a strong swimmer and did not realize I had swum so far away from the tour boat.  I made friend of a 4 or 5 foot shark.  It did not try to eat me but wanted to nudge me.  Not sure quite why.  Having raised and trained Alaskan Malamutes (think domesticated wolf that is a dog) I knew that it was not really being aggressive, more curious I think.  When it would come close I would firmly give it a hard push away and not try to kick or make a lot of noise or splashing.  Just kept moving back to the boat.  It was swimming next to me more than anything else.  I think it kind of liked me for some reason.  Maybe it knew I liked animals and was not really afraid of it.  Of course when the other people on the tour saw the dorsal fin next to me they got a bit excited.  I grabbed that fin and tried to keep the baby (I am thinking it was a juvenile since I was bigger than it was) away from them.  Every body got out and then I went to the boat and got out and it never once tried to bite me.  So yes, there are things in wild waters and some of them have a lot of teeth!  This one just wasn't using them on me.  Maybe it is the mother in me...  who knows.  But it was an interesting experience.

The tour staff were kind of superstitious and because I swam with a shark and did not seem scared they asked me if I wanted to go to the whaling birth grounds the next day because they had a science crew.  They wanted to see what the Humpbacks thought of me.  So of course, how do you turn down such an invitation!  They were magnificent but talk about stinky breath!   Still and all gorgeous animals!  Loved it!

I also like non-venomous snakes... so I am kind of a critter person...
LOL Eddie thanks for yet another awesome pick!

Not a chance, David.  It was a great day at work to get a lot done. Nobody stopping by my office, nobody calling, nobody emailing, no meetings to attend.  It's amazing what I accomplished with no interruptions!
No I am no that stupid and dumb. I was so tired from Thanksgiving and since my mother and dad had to get up so early on Thanksgiving Day so he could go to Sweetwater, Tennessee for his kidney dialysis that I let them sleep in this morning so I was also tired too. Welcome David and Star, and I know what you mean Star, to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat.
Who has time to shop!   I was so busy today I lost track of the time and got the puzzle up late.  I am now catching up with the chats and will be posting some tips soon too!

I don't take baths.  I take showers. You poop from your butt. So, if you take a bath, your poopy butt is in the water with the rest of you. Think about it!

Anyway, Bobby Darin took baths.

Eddie! Eddie! Way more personal info than we needed to know. Thanks for the music.
I dunno about you but I wipe after and my butt seals. So I don't put a poopy butt into bath water.
Steven ! Steven !

What about FARTS ?  In the bathwater ?  Aaaawwwwwggggghhhhh
Howdy All-

The tune made me wonder if Bobby Darrin actually had a Hot Tub with jets, blowers, filters, PH balancing, sanitizers, water hardness tests, and all the great things we think of when owning and enjoying the therapeutic soaks?

Any month that has an "r" in its name is perfect for the hot tub!

A few Tub parties have definitely created some funny stories... Ahahaha
Welcome Eddie, Davids, and Steven to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat.
Can't say as I've ever taken a frenchman's bubble bath. If you do, maybe you should stick to a rain closet.

Never heard of a "frenchman's bubble bath"?  Bobby Darin (Walden Robert (Cassotto) Darin) was of Italian and English ancestry.   Apparently, some scandal in the story...

Frenchman's bubble bath. Consume 3 cans of beans, take a tub of warm water, add some form of soap, sit in the tub, relax, wait. BUBBLES. (brown is bad btw)

Had and amazing day yesterday, wen to a delicious tea house with sandwich scones with butter clot, and cake. Later to a great time to theater museum where we where invited. He was a very lucky little dog he survive

I can't understand when a person has a dog like that why dont he keep it in line. Next time it might be a child

Wish you all a fantastic weekend

Wish you all a great Black Friday

Glad you had a wonderful time at the tea house and theater museum. Sorry that your Nieces puppy was injured and I agree dogs that can not obey or that are vicious should always be muzzled when out in public.
The tea house and theater museum sounds wonderful, Susan.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  So sorry to hear about your niece's puppy.  I'm glad it's OK, but I'm sure your niece was upset.  I agree with you that dog owners should be able to control their dogs.
Thank you Star, yes it was terrible for that little poppy. I am happy he is ok, but he was down after it happen and he is terrible frightened of other dogs.

Hope he will forget about it.

Wish you a great weekend
Welcome to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat.
Wow, Susan yesterday was like Dickens'  The best of times and the worst of times!   I like making scones and they are easy to do!  Recipe below.

But it is important to get that puppy socialized to get it over its fear by having a calm, mothering kind of dog cuddle up to it.  You niece should call a good dog trainer and tell them what happened and ask if there are any service dogs in the area for helping a dog that was attacked get resocialized.  I had a wonderful female Alaskan Malamute that was good at handling scared people and puppies.  She would lay down and kind of inch forward getting closer and closer without being threatening.  My Grandfather was terrified of big dogs and Mals are not little...  She knew it and would put her paw on his knee and look up at him imploring him to pet her.  He finally did and they actually went on a walk together by themselves after a while.  She was great with babies too!  My kids never had a dirty diaper for long because she would woodle at me as if to say, Hey, Mom get over here and take care of your baby!

Here is one of the scone recipes I use:

Mixed Berry Scone Mix

2.5 cups flour

¼ cup sugar

1 tbs baking powder

1.5 cups dried berries (cranberries, blueberries, rasperries or cherries or a mixture of them)

2 tbs vanilla sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tbs Grated orange peel

1/8 to ¼ cup flour if needed

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a plastic bag.

Pour berries into a separate plastic bag

Pack orange peel in small baggie

Store in decorative air tight container.

Ingredients customers need to provide:

1 cup orange juice

6 tbs butter cut into ½ inch pieces

2 large eggs

½ cup plus 2 tbs heavy cream

Preheat oven to 400.  Line baking sheet with parchment paper.  Place wax paper or parchment paper on counter as working surface.

Bring orange juice to boil in medium sauce pan.  Add berries, stir to moisten.  Remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes.  Drain berries in mesh colander.  Press berries to remove excess liquid.

Place flour mixture in a bowl.  Using a pastry cutter or two knives cut in butter pieces and mix until mixture is pebbly.  Stir in berries.  Make well in center.

Combine eggs, 1/3 cup cream, and orange peel in a small bowl.  Pour into center well and then using a fork, mix into flour mixture to moisten until dough comes together.  About 50 strokes.

Transfer dough to wax paper and knead a few times.  Shape into 8” disk.  If dough is too sticky, add a little flour to it.  Cut into 8 pie wedges.  Place wedges on baking sheet spacing evenly.

Brush with 2 tbs of cream and vanilla sugar.

Bake 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown and tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool 15 minutes before serving.

Hi Laura

She has already contact a dog trainer, she is doing everything for the dog, she has a 3 year too black Scottish

Thank you for sharing you are very kind

Wish you a great day Laura
Susan, so happy to hear that!  Dogs have deep feelings.  Any one who has ever lived with any for a period of time know that.  They can't talk to you about how they feel. So we have to figure out ways of helping them just like we do with our babies.  So glad she is getting some help on that front!

Happy Week End to All!

I had a great time in Pinehurst, NC this week....beautiful weather. I liked it so much, I may retire there (although where we live now is also nice).

I've started getting back to Wikitreeing, which I enjoy & I actually started Christmas shopping (Amazon has made my life easy...no more Christmas Eve last minute shopping).

Have a great weekend.

Great pictures of black cats. Is that in honor of black Friday?
Your cats are beautiful, Doug.  It looks like they're spoiled!
Spoiled is an understatement. Black cats & Black Friday did cross my mind.
Ditto to everyone and I had a black cat when I was in school and lived in Athens, Tennessee. She was 20 years old when she died. I was only one there when she died at home. We were very close to each other. Welcome Susan, Kay, Star, Doug, David and John to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. Also Doug good pictures of your black cats Doug.
I can't tell you how many back cats we've had. We only have one now, but we do have three cats. We lost a back cat in June, her name was Nancy. We lived in the country and I had kitty dogs going into the barn and garage and into the house. People dumped animals down our road and we feed them all. If they adopted us we would take them to the neuter scooter. At one time we had 8 cats and 4 dogs.
We had 6 Alaskan Malamutes and 1 Maine Coon Cat.  The cat thought it was a Mal.  People would come to the house and just like the dogs, McDuff would go up to the person and want to be petted.  If he was being ignored he would put the person's hand like, Hey, I'm here, pet me!    He hated the car.  I had to put one of the Mals in the car to take the cat to the vet.  We caused quite a stir with this big dog looming over cat who was looking out the window of the (wagon at that time SUVs were not around yet) as we drove down the street.  They were all great friends!
Wow Laura I love cats very much it really must have been fun in your home having all those gorgeous animal. How fun th cat thought it was a nap

Hi hi what  adorable story the dog has to go when the cat went to a wet.

Animal are so adorable

Thank you for sharing this adorable story
I love Black cats. I have Goblin III, now. He is very skittish and hides 99% of the time, but occasionally I get a purr out pf him!
I love fluffy black cats with emerald eyes!  Mine fetched.

Today is.....

BLACK FRIDAY!!!!

What are you doing on line?????

In the United States, the day after Thanksgiving has become known as Black Friday and is considered the official kick-off for holiday shopping.  Retailers across the country slash prices, offer doorbuster deals on popular big-ticket items and often open in the wee hours of the morning to extend early bird specials.  Dedicated and thrifty shoppers line up outside the stores to be the first to grab that special deal or this season’s popular and hard-to-find gift.

The origin of Black Friday is derived from the enormous amount of sales retailers report which can often bring their profits into the black. Black in accounting is used to describe a business making a profit as opposed to being in the red denoting losses.

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/black-friday-day-after-thanksgiving/

by Dorothy Barry G2G Astronaut (2.7m points)
I don't go out in that insanity. Neither do I party on NYE with the amateur drinks.
Omigosh, Dorothy, that video is scary!  I have not shopped on Black Friday for at least 30 years, and now I remember why.
You make me laugh Star about now you remember why you don’t shop on Black Friday. I can certainly understand that.
Wow what a great discussion going on here!! Looks like I am not alone on WikiTree today.  And did you know some stores started at 6pm last night and others started at midnight?? So far no major incidents but I haven't checked tonight's news yet!!! I avoid Black Friday shopping like the plague (disease) myself!!
I'm gonna play the race card and demand it be called purple friday
But Eddie, then the Purple People Eater will get P,O.d
Welcome everyone to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. I have never done shopping on Black Friday except on day but it wasn't that bad because I went to Lifeway Baptist store. Then I went to see a movie.
There is absolutely nothing I need that badly!  Them folk be crazeeee!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

I heard that the malls and shops are not crowded like in the past.  I think a lot of people are shopping the online sales.

I need to start!   Spent the day babysitting, finishing dishes from yesterday and putting them away.  Freezing some left overs.  Talking with clients, making a cooking making list for my husband as our 5 year old granddaughter is coming over to make cookies with me tomorrow and spend the night!  Major cooking time!  Of course she will take a lot of them home to share too!

Here is a recipe for a cookie that melts in your mouth and is good for young and old people who have trouble chewing...

CREAM CHEESE COOKIES

1 cup shortening         1 cup  vanilla sugar                 8 oz. cream cheese

1 egg                        1 cup flour  (note if you do not have the lighter tasting vanilla sugar you can use regular sugar and add 1 tsp. vanilla  )

Preheat oven to 350 degrees with oven racks in highest positions.

Yield about 5 doz.

1.  Set electric mixer to "Cream Butter" or Medium Speed.

2.  Cream Butter with  vanilla sugar and cream cheese.  After thoroughly mixed beat on highest speed for 1 minute.

3.  Add egg and if you did not use vanilla sugar,  vanilla.  Beat on "Cream Butter" or Medium Speed until mixed well.  Then beat on highest speed for 1 minute.

4.  Add flour.  Beat on Low Speed or "Mix Cookie Dough" until thoroughly mixed.

5.  Line very thin cookie sheets with aluminum foil.  The foil is essential for the cookie to bake properly.

6.  Drop dough by rounded tsp. on baking sheets about 3" apart. I usually get 12 cookies on a regular baking sheet.

7.  When putting baking sheets on both racks rotate them half- way through cooking (about 5 minute mark.  Put lower left sheet on upper right rack, etc.

8.  After baking (about 8 -12 minutes total time) remove to racks for cooling. Cookies should be white and fluffy with just a hint of browning to edges.  They should not look gooey or runny but they won’t look hard either.

The stores in this area, Central Florida, seem to partially learned a lesson.
Last year there was such a reaction to stores opening so early on Thanksgiving Day that the workers required to work missed family gatherings.  This year it seems to have started some of them later in the day.  Still does not entice me to venture out.

Mayflower Project

For WikiTreers who are working on the profiles of the Mayflower passengers and their immediate families.  The Mayflower Project currently covers the passengers of the Mayflower, their descendants for two generations or born before 1700, whichever is more inclusive. The project was originally concerned with cleaning up the profiles of the passengers and merging duplicates. As a practical matter for profile clean up, and for consistency, the various wives of the passengers were added to the original project. Many of the wives were also passengers on the Mayflower. In the future, the project may be expanded to cover the first 5 generations from the passengers.  We are fortunate that several state officers of the Mayflower Society have joined the project.

Anyone who has the WikiTree genealogist badge and the pre-1700 badge is invited to join the project.  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Mayflower

Slowly getting back into WikiTreeing after a couple weeks of hectic work in my day job. I'm a bit stumped on which line to focus on now - I'm starting to run out of 'easy' areas of research. I did get a Premium membership for the month at Find My Past for $1 (they had a sale), so I may see what I can leverage with that while I have the resource.

Beyond that, had a surprise with DNA. I got a surprise DNA match of 13.5%. I'm fairly certain this likely means this is a half-sibling of one of my parents based on all the other evidence (age of the match, age of parent's full siblings, matches to other matches, etc., etc.) I'm treading lightly, though, and I won't be able to tell the parent in question until next weekend. Hoping all goes well when I do tell them. I have not heard back from the match/new half-aunt/uncle since the initial contact last week, though this must be just as shocking for them.
by Kristen Louca G2G6 Mach 3 (32.6k points)
Best of luck in your research at Find My Past and only for $1.00. A surprise find is always great!
I agree on new relatives/surprise matches being great, though this particular one exposes an unknown affair from decades ago. I'm just worried about how the reception of this fact will go over. Heh. It doesn't help I have to wait until next Sunday to be able to tell the parent in question. Earlier, I suppose, if I wanted to tell them over the pone instead of in person.
You are wise to talk to them in person rather than by phone.  In person you can see their reaction and judge what you should say.  This gives you some time to think about the best approach to dealing with such a sensitive topic.
Welcome Kristen, David, and Star to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. I agree with Star.
Kristen, glad to see you back here on the chat!  I think it is fun to find interesting details about family but some of the older generations are still kind of shy about things like affairs.  And you never know if something else happened like a rape.  A lot of that was hushed up too.  So being cautious is a good thing.  I was surprised at my Mother's reaction to finding out that in Germany (she is of German ancestry) at one time it was kind of common for a wedding to take place after the bride showed she could get pregnant and carry a healthy baby to full term.  They called these farm courtships because you needed strong children to help run a farm.  And you had to have a civil ceremony before the church would marry you.  All of that was very distressing my Mom.  I thought it sounded kind of practical for the time period!

Hi David, Thank you for hosting!

One of my favorite moments for Thanksgiving:

An adult daughter that lives on the west coast texts me asking for my crab dip recipe. I enter it into a message and send. Then - it dawns on me that she put that recipe in a cookbook she made for us all a few years back. I text - ummm, didn't you put that recipe into the cookbook you made? She texts back: Yes. The thing is, I made a book for everyone but myself. (I didn't ask what she did with the original recipes lol). Gotta love it!

Happy weekend. Hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving (among those of us who celebrate the holiday), and avoids the black Friday crowds.

We had a nice visit with my cousin. She told us about her visit to our 2nd cousin in rural southwestern Colorado, who is in her 80s and has been doing paper genealogy for years. Fortunately my cousin was able to get images of several of the pictures from old family albums. She also told an interesting story about how our Colorado cousin, hearing she was from New York, assumed she was from a very big city. I guess my cousin explained that she grew up on a dairy farm, her Dad was president of the Brown Swiss Association for a while, and so on... My cousin and I were able to confirm that we had agreement for all the descendants of our great grandfather and had common brick walls to work on.

I've made some progress on my maternal Scranton ancestors on WikiTree. By adding my grandfather, great grandfather, and gg grandfather, I was able to connect to existing profiles and another PGM ancestor. My gg was some "fun" to do. His FindAGrave was conflated with another, and his gravestone was engraved with a date a year before he appeared in the census. I was able to find his death record in images of the town records. Those feel like success. It was sad to see that three of his sons died in the Civil War.

Here's one of the pictures from old albums. Its not the best picture, but has a great story. Brothers George Ellsworth Scranton and Martin Luther Scranton met in Colorado, probably in the early 1950s. They had not seen each other in 50 years.

You're right - it's a great story.  Pictures have so much more meaning when a story can be added.
After I posted this, I thought that these two old farmers must have been quite uncomfortable all dressed up in suits!
I am sure the two men would have preferred to be in overalls instead of suits. Thank you, Kay, for sharing the story and picture with us.

My wife and I hope to avoid lines at stores, though we may run across the street to the grocery store. We've mostly been reading or watching videos.

The weather as definitely cooled down here and we will probably have to turn off the AC and the heat on before long.

Since I got my 1000 profiles for the month a few days ago, I've switch to working on profiles which haven't been worked on for over a year.  Actually I'm up to 31 Jul 2016.  I may also work on the unsourced profiles I have entered this month too.  I may start some new Cemeteries too.

Sounds like you have been busy, Dave.
We do our Christmas shopping in October or earlier as we do not like the crowds. Only a few gift cards left to get and we are done. It has been cooler here the last couple days but now the temp is going back up, it is Texas after all. Good work on adding your sources to your profiles. I created a few new profile I also need to source as well as add several hundred more names to the cemetery I am working on.
Welcome Dave, Star and David to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. I am trying get my 1000 profiles for the month I like almost 400 to make  it.
I am thrilled if I can do 100 a month at this time of year!  Hopefully can do more in January!

Thanksgiving homemade cookies my wife made for the family dinner. My favourite is the hedgehog cookies, made fresh with Texas Pecans into kind of a pecan sandy dipped in chocolate and chocolate sprinkles with eyes/ mouth added with chocolate that she melts. The other cookie are also excellent, pumpkin acorns/pinecones, walnuts and lemon poppy seed cookies and acorns made from mini peanut butter cookies and heresy kisses.

Yummy look delicious can you e mail me some, I really could eat some

Of the home made cookies
I love the hedgehog cookies! n Your wife does an amazing job, David.  Can I hire her to do my Christmas cookies?
My wife said she bet that they would eat every dessert except her cookies, and there was not a single cookie left on the serving tray. Our daughter ate the last of the pumpkin cookies. We also had fresh apple pie, buttermilk pie, cheesecake assortment, fresh pumpkin pie. Would love to send you some but the postman would eat them before they got to you!! Not sure how the shipping cost would be to Europe.
Thank you, Star, I am always trying to find her work but she refuses the job offers. My wife said thank you for the compliment.
I think you are right about the postman but those cookies yummy.
Ditto to what every one said they did look delicious. Welcome Susan, David and Star to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. Great picture of the cookies it does make one hungry David
Those look fantastic! Sounds like you had great desserts.
Will she share a recipe?  Some cooks do and some don't.  I always like to share mine.  What is fun is when someone personalizes a recipe you gave them and you like it better!
Hi Laura, is it one of my wife's recipe you want? Yes, she will share recipes with you through me as she does not use the computer. She only uses her iPad for email, Facebook and Pinterest, LOL. She says she does not compute!! She just had me order her a 12 piece dinner set we do not need, she decorates the dining room table for all the holidays and seasons. Will have to post some photo's some time. Right now it is done in fall and next, she will do the table for Christmas.
Yes!  I am going to send you a file of recipes for her.  Please ask her to share what she would like!  I love recipes... all kinds!  I have a number of chefs as clients so I have recipes that are from many of them.  Plus some that are ancient (like hundreds of years old that I translated from Latin or some other language).  And of course family ones and then the ones I have created.  A mixed bag..
Let's start with the cookie recipes!  Pretty please?

Day after Thanksgiving and we just had our Friday family dinner ... waiting to recover before the pumpkin cheese cake dessert ... watching college football and looking out the window at the Big Horn Mountains ... and the deer roaming around the property ... life is good.

Sounds good.....
Ditto. Welcome Bob and Chris to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat.
Life is indeed good, Bob.  We don't take time often enough to reflect on how good it is.

Sometimes Thanksgiving memories brings me back to "Thanksgiving in Connecticut", November 1962.

My Gramma, Mabel Garde, Grandpa Henry, Aunt Bea with her daughters Sissy & Linda came to our house to enjoy Thanksgiving, November 22, 1962 at my house in Norwalk, Connecticut. Just one week later Gramma Mabel passed away on November 29, 1962.

In the picture below, Helen Landry (my cousin) or "Sissy" as we called her, is the one sitting next to our grandmother, Mable (Keys) Garde and my dog, "Lassie". (I am the one behind her). This was the last picture taken of them, one week before our grandmother passed away. Sissy, my cousin, passed away this year, September 2, 2017.

The other picture I had just received two years ago from my cousin, when they went thru some old family pictures. My grandmother was in her early 70's when this was taken.

Great story Dorothy alot of things like that happens. Like when my granddad was in the nursing home and he turned 91 and then one week later he died after he turned 91. My dad wants to live to be 91 but I don't think he will. Welcome Dorothy to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat.
My cousin's birthday is 2 days after mine.  When our mutual Grandmother died she died on the day between our birthdays... surrounded by family which is how she loved to be in life!
Thank you for sharing the photo and the story, Dorothy. So sorry to hear about the recent loss of your cousin.

Well hello

As I'm not in tomorrow, I've been making the most of being home to work on connecting as many profiles as I can.
Basically I'd been working from the old G2G thread about the passing of Gerald Cavendish Gosvenor and adding in his children - connecting in broken links where relationships have been missed. This led to completing the connection of Daniel Snow to David Lloyd George. Staying within the family, I discover that Dominic West is unconnected (yet he is one of the quickest profiles to connect!) I'm waiting on a couple of trusted list requests (and the completion of a couple of unresponsive manager requests) so I can continue working with a number of other profiles.

Additionally, I've just connected the Holocaust survivor Joseph Kagan (yes, I'm aware that it is the Wikipedia article linked and not his wikitree profile!) turned inventor of Gannex come fraudulant politician

Welcome Richard to the WikiTree Thanksgiving Holiday weekend chat. And interesting work you are doing.
I love working on old profiles.  I made a mess in one of my lines and am trying to untangle it on paper so I can fix it in WikiTree.  I realized as I was connecting generations in WikiTree that I missed a whole one...  sigh....

I think I have a silver pattern name Grosvenor.  It was made by Oneid in the 1920s I think.  Got it form one of my Grandmothers after her death.
Congratulations on the connections, Richard.
