How to get new NZ cemetery category created

I've gone round and round trying to figure out how new cemetery categories are set up by reading various pages and I am either not getting it or I am not authorised to create new sub-categories?

The specific cemetery I need to create is as follows - it applies to several of my ancestor profile pages:
[[Category: Saint Paul's Lutheran Churchyard, Upper Moutere]].
This is a sub-category to this next level category:
[[Category: Tasman, New Zealand Cemeteries]]

Hi Annetta
If you add that category to one of the profiles you wish it to apply to then save the profile. Go out of editing mode and if it shows red....as it should if it is a new category....then click on the red words. This will take you to an editing page for the new cemetery category. On this you then add the category for the next level up.Which will be Category: Tasman, New Zealand Cemeteries.
(With the double braces) Then save. That will establish the new category.
Otherwise give a profile you want this attached to in a comment and one of us can action it for you.

Once it is set up on one then you can apply it to others in your list.
Did you want a freespace page set up as well? Let me know and I can get that started.
Thanks for the advice. I had previously managed to get to the point described "click on the red words'. From there I think there is a step missing. You say "on this you then add the category next level up" but no details how to do this exactly? If I just press the save button it says it's not created. BTW I do understand about parent / child pages; page architecture / hierarchies and all that as I have a web background. I just don't know how sub categories get created on this platform. PS I don't know what free space is sorry.
Rather than "add" I should have said "type". You type the category for the next level up into the text box on the page you arrive on when clicking on the red words, and then press save.
I've now added the higher level category to the Cemetery category you started. If you click on the edit button on that page you will see the text that was added into the text field.

So you should be all good to add to others. I see there are already 4 profiles on the page which you had attached the category to.
I didn't know that. That's an aewsome answer, Lianne!
Aah! I got it now cheers for sorting. Much appreciated.

Anette, looking at the Tasman, New Zealand Cemeteries page, it looks like the format for the category should be:

[[Category: Saint Paul's Lutheran Churchyard, Upper Moutere, Tasman District]]

This is the only cemetery category that should appear on the profiles, not the higher level [[Category: Tasman, New Zealand Cemeteries]].  Then an administrator will create the page.
