Information on John Daniel who married a Cherokee Indian Girl in Georgia in about 1817.

Question

Have read on One World Tree that John Daniel was born in South Carolina in 1800 and drove a wagon for the government taking Cherokee Indians to settlements in about 1817.  Said he eloped with a Cherokee Girl and married in North Georgia.  Their first child, William, was born in Jackson County, Alabama in 1818.
