I would love to join the Texas Project. My ancestors have been making their to Texas before Texas was a nation. My grandmother even said a couple of cousins died at the Alamo, still looking.
Welcome to the Texas Project, Toni.

This is the Texas Project page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Texas

I am a newbie here at WikiTree and would love to join your Texas project but will need help on what I will to do.  I am a native Texan as well as most of my maternal and paternal lineages are from Texas.
My husband is also from Texas and so is his family. I would like him to join also.

Thank you,
Lynn Pearson

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Texas                         My name is also listed on the project page as project Coordinator.  So any questions you have, just ask away.  You may need to search this g2g to find the United States Project joining to receive  your United States History Badge.    For your questions, just send me a message.

Both my parents were from Texas and I have ancestors that were there pre-statehood.  I'm stretched pretty thin with my other project groups so other than doing what I can on my own profiles, I can't take on much else.

I was born and raised in Texas, so most of my relatives (and ancestors) are from Texas. But I'm not real big on history, so I'm not sure how I can help (especially while I'm still working on my own tree/close relatives).
by Dennis Wheeler G2G6 Pilot (573k points)
Dennis, just adding your own ancestors helps. You may have the time, information and opportunity to answer a question on g2g because of your knowledge of Texas. You may come across a source that you want to add to our project page or share a profile you are excited about.

If you just add your own Texas ancestors and make sure they have sources and biographies, that’s all that’s needed. If you need help with that, please feel free to contact us.
thanks for adding me... I'll try to help out where and when I can.
I apologize- I thought I had already added you. I am late on adding several badges and I apologize to all of you who have waited!

This is a fun project!  If you are naturally interested in Texas you will add things. Just keep the project in mind and connect to it so we can enjoy your work!!
I should point out that this project is Mary Richardson’s baby! She is an amazing project coordinator from Texas. I am leader which means I can add the US History badge, but Mary is the expert behind this project!! Thanks, Mary!!

I am a native Texan with three of my grandparent's lines dating back to at least the 1800s (the fourth moved here between 1910 and 1920). Between aunts, uncles, and cousins, the number of my Texas relatives is probably in the thousands. I am interested in Texas history and what part my family played in it.

I have alot of family that came from Texas, mainly farmers and their families. Cartwrights, Bandys, Thompsons, Meadows, just to name a few.  I would be greatly interested in expanding my knowledge of them and the areas they came from.  Mainly from Bandera County is where they settled.

Native Texan with connections to Stephen F Austin registry. I'm fairly new at this but would love to join. I seem to have all branches of ancestors here in Texas from an early time period.

Yes, I am very interested in Texas.  One question, why doesn't Texas have its' own Badge, we did after all have six (6) Flags over Texas and we are still way different than any other state.  :)

Ooops, I read in one of the older posts that Texas was a sub-project...Texas is sooo big, I think we should have a Texas Project and break the State down into sub-projects....

All teasing aside, I would love to work on Texas!

Welcome to Texas, Loretta!.

No we don't have our own badge.  But we are large.  We have 254 counties..   We do have our own project page, with many Space pages created about all of Texas history.  Here is the link for Texas.  At the top you will see the counties,  below are the Space pages on the Defenders of the Alamo, the Battle of San jacinto, the Texas Space page and more..

Here is Texas:
