A cousin asked me a couple of years ago to run her DNA, but not do much else with it. I added her to our great big ole shared tree and added her DNA test information. Which is great. I have had a couple of inquiries about her DNA and I have sent people to her WikiTree Pedigree, to her WikiTree Profile and shared her GEDMatch ID via her WikiTree Profile. (UPDATE! You must get your cousins to join WikiTree and upload thier own DNA)
Today? Today I got an email from my cousin about one of those inquiries. She got a note from someone who had contacted me a while back asking to see my cousins Pedigree, GEDMatch...yada yada and my reply to the inquiry that the match appeared to be on my Cousins mothers side - there were no matches to me or anyone else from her fathers side.
Today? I found myself re-running the original analysis (no I didn't keep it - yes it will never happen again - created a DNA Sandbox for my cousin as soon as I finished the email).
It was a breeze! How fun that I could click on the word Compare (over to the right of her profile page under DNA Tested and within her DNA Test information, plug the GEDMatch numbers into the box and boom it was all done in a matter of Minutes. 12 different comparisons on 6 people in minutes. Wow, now that was easy.
I am so glad the DNA Project is moving forward with great new features for our big ole shared tree! Thanks to Peter and Chris and GEDmatch for this great collaborative DNA tool!
