Hi Stephanie, I know the answer to your question!

The leadership of the One Name Studies Project recently changed (I am the new Leader and Ros Haywood-41 is the Project Coordinator).  I have worked with Abby and I hope that we can relaunch the challenge next month.  There's just been a delay because of the transition.

If you would like to go ahead and request a surname now, let me know! :)

I wanted to request the surname Stults .... I have been trying very very very hard to trace my surname back to whichever ancestor immigrated to the US.... However I can't get past James Stults born in Virginia 1798 lived his whole life and died in Tennessee. I have a marriage and census records but no birth record and no death records because Jackson County Tennessee is something like a 3X burned county
I've even spent the last year connecting any and all records belonging to Stults in Tennessee and Virginia and North Carolina on family search in hope to find any kind of connection or clue

Hi Stephanie,

I checked the list of projects on WikiTree and there is not a project with that name.  See here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Projects

I found that page by going to the drop down menu at the top of the page, click "find" and scroll down to "projects."

If you will explain (restate in more detail) your question, perhaps I can help, or another volunteer may chime in.

Do you know if we can request surnames to be featured?

Stephanie, I read on one of those links you posted that One Name Studies has taken over leadership for Surname Spotlights.
My suggestion is to add their tag to your original question.
Hope that works for you, so you can get some answers and continue to enjoy that challenge.
