I'm trying to find the lineage of my 2 great grandmother, Emily Jane Rowland ( b. ~ 1847,  m. Pine, m. Manchester, m. Jacobs, d. 6 Feb 1917 in Troy, NY.). There is a Rowland family that went from CT to Long Island and then moved up the Hudson to Albany and went east to Hoosic and Pittstown near the VT border. Emily Jane may have been orphaned -- I find her living with her older sister, Blandina Hunter in Bennington, VT in the 1860 census.

Sorry but I could not tell you. I show her husband as having passed away in Westchester, NY in 1740. He was a 1st cousin 9 X removed.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

My research indicates that Emily Jane Rowland, is daughter of William Henry Rowland 1820-1873 Pittstown NY, he is son of Reuben Rowland 1796-1881 and wife Judith both lived and buried in Pittstown, Rensselaer Co New York.  Father of Reuben unknown but he had a brother named Moses Rowland.

I am a descendant of Reuben and Judith but do not have any info on their parents. But I know there were Rowlands in the Pittstown area in the 1700's and am still trying to make a connection.  I also do not have Judith's maiden name.
Hi, I am also a descendant of Reuben and Judith. I have been unable to find a connection from Reuben to the Rowlands of Connecticut however I do believe that he not only had a brother Moses but a sister as well. I am uncertain of her name but believe it was Adelaide or Adaline.

If you are on ancestry.com there's quite a bit of info on the Rowlands whom still live in the Troy area near pittstown. I have talked to one :"cousin" who has since relocated to Arizona.

It's funny that I've seen several references of the Rowlands moving to Long Island before relocating upstate because a faction of us moved back down to the LI area around the early 1900s. Again I've been unable to trace us back to connecticut.
