I am trying to find the parents of;

John J. Reynolds
1793 born in either NC or TN
Dies before 1860 in Scottsville, Macoupin, IL

He married in 1824 South Carolina to:
Clarissa Waggoner
1807 TN
1851 Scottsville, Macoupin, IL

This Reynolds line goes from NC to IL to Taney, MO.

Thank you for any help that you can offer, it is greatly appreciated.

Are you basing his death on lack of presence in the census record? Or something else? I noticed a John Reynolds, born in North Carolina, living in Missouri in 1860. I don't know who his children are though... could this be him?

Thanks Doug! That does look like he's living with his son Francis in 1860, even the ages are wrong. Might help in locating a death record.

Thank you both for looking into this.

I could not find a death record for John J Reynolds. This has been part of the problem. I was hoping that the death record might list his parents.

Yes, you have the correct family. I have all of what you listed in my family tree. The problem isn't his descendants it is his ancestors!

So now that you have the correct family is there any indication of who the parents are of;

John J. Reynolds
1793 born in either NC or TN
Dies before 1860 in Scottsville, Macoupin, IL
