Thomas Penuel Floyd-1869 and Thomas Penual Floyd-1681 have been proposed for a merger; he is the only Penuel Floyd who has a WT profile. One profile lists no father; the other lists Emanuel M. Floyd as his father, no wife is shown in either profile. This party was born 1760-1765, and died May 12, 1815 in Nash County, North Carolina.

Is this the Penuel Floyd you are talking about? If you have more data regarding him (with sources) why don't you share that data with the profile managers so the biographies could be improved?

If it's a different Penuel Floyd, then create a new profile with the data you have.

I sent this message yesterday but Wiki  did something strange with it.

Will do in a day or two. I have never found  Thomas Penuel Floyd in official records, only in family genealogies. It seems that some Penuel Floyd genealogists want to  ignore the Penuel Floyd who was recorded in Nash County NC  records as the "base-begotten" child of Delilah Floyd. Nathaniel Drake's name is mentioned, but so is Francis Parker's. The name of Samuel Floyd as Penuel's father is pure fiction. Penuel was an executor of Nathaniel Drake's estate and was associated with Diocletian Drake. Some genealogists say Delilah Floyd married Nathaniel Drake about 10 years after Penuel's birth. Seems reasonable. First wife dead,  I assume. I spent some 30 years researching the Floyds and wrote a genealogical narrative called "The Elusive Floyds." My sources were official records on microfiche  -- back when God was a teen-ager. I will try to document everything for you. But if I do not satisfy, your choice is to reject my 30 years of research. I don't think there were two Penuel Floyds. No,just one, and a lot of misinformation is out there about him. By the way, Penuel  Floyd lived in Nash County NC, as did Federick (not Frederick) Floyd, my ancestor., both in the vicinity of Pig Basket Creek. Francis Floyd's mother was Jonana Goodson  Floyd (Isle of Wight County VA) who married Matthew Lowry after her Floyd husband died. I think he was Thomas Floyd but could have been an earlier Francis Floyd. Nothing definite on that.

The following on Page 63 of my book “The Elusive Floyds.”

Penuel Floyd (sometimes spelled Pinnuel and Newell) who was related to our family, first appeared in Nash County records in April 1778 when the County Court “Ordered that Venuel Floyd, a base-begotten child of the body of Delila Floyd to be (note: “to be” marked out)A aged about 14 years be bound unto Francis Parker until it arrive at lawful age. Fee to be pd. by T.H. / Indenture to be prepared agt. (agreement) next court.” He next appeared in the July 1778 court minutes: “Order of last Court for binding Penuel Floyd to Francis Parker also rescinded & ordered that he be bound to Nathl Drake.” (More about Penuel Floyd in a separate chapter.)

Will share part of that separate chapter in  an upcoming post.
