How do you open a totally private profile

Daughter of Short-25 is private she was probably born circa 1760.

I have emailed the profile manager but she has not been active since 2010 so I don't expect a reply.

Could you give us more information on the profile you wish to open please. Maybe add the profile ID to your question.

You probably should add a tag for sysops or leaders to get their attention, Chris.

Since we can't see the profile's ID, we can't submit an open profile request.

Posting in G2G is the proper action to take for such profiles.

First email the manager to open it up. If the manager is not active or hard to figure out, I would let Paul Bechs know about this profile. Email Paul@wikitree.com or use the form for a request.

It looks like the profile manager has not been active since 2010.

To access the form, go to the profile's TAB for Family Tree & Genealogy Tools for Patience (Bowen) Short.

Then, stroll down to Unresponsive Profile Manager Request Form ( it's the last one on the bottom).

Submit the report but mention that the "private daughter". If there are families under her that may also need opening up, let Paul know so we can source them or improve the profiles (-: Thanks for doing this....

Thanks Maggie. I do love the way Wikitree has followed the Catch 22 example just when you think things could be simple ;-)

she's not showing up private for me...

Not showing private now for me either ;-)  But it revealed a real mess. Sons married to wives. That I have sorted, But I am sat with a couple of printed off trees trying to spot the joins. Convinced that there could be a missing generation. If you look at John Wesley Peck Peck-27  4th Generation on the paternal side and 5th Generation on the maternal side has the same parents.

That is not at all unlikely but it is really strange in between. It does not show on that tree. But delve around in between ??? The whole Short / Peck  think just doesn't feel right.

All I started doing was tidying up a merge ;-(  I wonder if it is time to tip toe off and hope no one notices !
